New Democracy Congratulates Denver Mayor-Elect Mike Johnston

Washington, DC – New Democracy congratulates Denver Mayor-Elect Mike Johnston on his successful campaign based on ambitious solutions to the biggest problems facing Denver. As the first new mayor of Colorado’s largest city in over 10 years, Johnston represents the new generation of center-left leaders pushing for pragmatic change.

New Democracy is proud to have supported Mike Johnston through Advancing Denver and specifically applauds Johnston’s well thought-out initiative to become the first mayor in the United States to end chronic homelessness. By pairing investments in new housing with the mental health, addiction and job training services that people need to rebuild their lives, Johnston will help those suffering from chronic homelessness get back on their feet.
