Governing an evenly divided country isn’t easy. In his first year, President Biden
racked up some truly impressive achievements, and was met with some serious
setbacks. His approval ratings have fallen, and many Democrats are filled with
foreboding about this fall’s midterm election.

New Democracy — a network of pragmatic Democratic leaders committed to making
the party more competitive everywhere — believes there’s still time to turn things
around. To get back on track, the party needs three things: a new political direction,
new ideas that can help Democrats win across America’s pragmatic center, and new
energy from a rising generation of activists around the country.

The tasks at hand seem daunting to some, but if we work together within the big tent of the Democratic party, anything is possible. That’s why we invite you to join us April 1, 2022 in Washington D.C., for our conference: “New Directions for Democrats: Radical Pragmatism and the New Liberals.”

We look forward to bringing together elected officials, candidates, pragmatic policy and political experts, and our grassroots network of center-left voters to discuss how we can best tackle today’s most pressing issues and win in November of 2022 — and 2024.

In addition to diving deep into the policy and political challenges of today, this conference serves as an official introduction to the New Liberals — a growing grassroots network of young activists around the country who are offering Democrats a radically pragmatic alternative to the often illiberal ideas and demands of leftwing activists. The New Liberals have more than 50 chapters nationwide and tens of thousands of followers on social media. Over the coming weekend, the New Liberals will
participate in an intensive strategy session during which they’ll discuss their political vision, local activism, and plans for a large-scale mobilization to help pragmatic candidates in the midterms. This is the next generation of pragmatic thought leaders, and New Democracy is proud to partner with the New Liberals.

We believe it is vital that Democrats build a broad and durable center-left majority that can govern our country effectively and keep it moving forward. That’s New Democracy’s mission, and we hope you join us to help accomplish it.
