New Democracy Launches Five-Figure Ad Blitz Over Senators’ Support for Controversial Cabinet Picks

WASHINGTON – New Democracy today announced the launch of a multi-state digital advertising campaign calling attention to key Republican senators’ support for Donald Trump’s controversial cabinet nominees. The five-figure ad spend targets Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) for backing figures such as Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for senior administration roles.

The ads highlight:

  • Reckless decisions, like supporting RFK Jr. for Health and Human Services Secretary, despite his record of spreading vaccine misinformation—even facing opposition from his own family.

  • Backing unfit leaders, like Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary, despite reports of financial mismanagement, personal misconduct, and a secret sexual assault settlement.

  • Poor judgment, like pushing Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, despite her meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and her record of amplifying Kremlin propaganda.

“American exceptionalism comes from elected leaders driving positive change and putting country before party,” said Lindsay Lewis, Co-Founder of New Democracy. “These Senators failed that basic challenge and put Trump and the Party before the country. Voters deserve better.”

The campaign represents an aggressive approach for a centrist Democratic group. The ads will run across X and Meta Platforms in Maine, North Carolina, Louisiana, and other key states through February.

New Democracy is a support network and home base for pragmatic Democratic leaders – governors, mayors, state officials, and Members of Congress – with the mission of expanding the party’s appeal across Middle America and making Democrats competitive everywhere. Since 2022 New Democracy has invested more than $10 million in digital and television ads supporting Democrats in key races across the country.
