AUSTIN NEW LIBERALS
Come sit down, make friends, grab a drink or two with us, and let's make Austin a better place!
Cherrywood Coffeehouse — 1400 East 38th 1/2 Street Austin, TX 78722
We, the Austin New Liberals are a group of pragmatic and centrist policy wonks, community activists, and local politicos working together to make Austin a better place to live. We started on social media, but now we are on the ground. We support building more housing of all types to address our city's cost of living crisis and make it easier to walk, bike, and mass transit around our communities.
This happy hour is all about urbanism. Come by for drinks and conversations about politics with smart, mostly reasonable people, from 5-7 pm on September 19th at Cheerywood Coffeehouse!
This happy hour is a great place to get plugged in, whether you're looking for friends/community, opportunities to volunteer, ways to get involved in local politics, or just a place to vent.
We're not looking to reinvent the wheel or compete with existing groups. If you're about making Austin a better place to live, please come out and speak to us. We welcome everyone of all races, religions, orientations, and various ideological views (we try to keep it pragmatic, but liberal at the same time).
The Austin New Liberals are a branch of the Center for New Liberalism. Our core beliefs are in economic growth, free trade, immigration, criminal justice reform, housing, affordable healthcare, a robust social safety net, and investments in a cleaner economy.
Don't like all of those, maybe just a few? Great! We also believe in working together to make pragmatic policy gains at the local and state level.
