San Diego Mayor Homelessness Initiative

America’s Finest City is no stranger to the nation’s unhoused crisis. Last year, San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and his team took on the bold Homes for All of Us initiative.

Homes for All of Us is a package aiming to increase the supply of housing, at all income levels. Homes for All of Us includes the Housing Action Package, Middle-Income Housing Working Group, and Blueprint San Diego.

Also last year, Mayor Gloria, alongside Councilman Stephen Whitburn, introduced the Safe Sleeping Program, which as of January of this year has seen 500 people now in safe sleeping conditions, especially thanks to the building out of O Lot. San Diego housed 1,400+ individuals experiencing homelessness last year.

Now, the San Diego Mayor has a goal of adding 1,000 new shelter beds in the city.

We have top line highlights to the right as well as resources and links to helpful items – such as the City Homeless Shelters Services dashboard. We are encouraged by Gloria. We hope you are too.
